Abstract

Anita Wohlmann has written a remarkable book about the metaphors 'Kampf' (fight) and 'Schlacht' (battle), which are frequently used as linguistic and figurative expressions in dealing with serious illness. We, Gabriele Werner-Felmayer, biologist and bioethicist, and Ulrike Nachtschatt, linguist and diversity and gender officer, both at the Medical University of Innsbruck, have read it and discussed it.
